Samsung and Visa, New strategy to introduce the NFC Mobile Payments at 2012 Olympics
NFC, Near Field Communication Mobile payments is currently the hot cake in the Web and also fetching a very good competition in the market to introduce the NFC for their products by the Business giants. Here comes the latest news from Samsung and Visa, which today announced a new strategy to introduce the NFC Mobile Payment solution before, during and after the 2012 Olympics.
According to President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Europe, Seokpil Kim states that the mobile payment handset will be obtainable in the UK firstly, and later, they have the plans to expand the service to other countries in Europe and around the world, where contactless payment facilities are available in the near future.
Samsung, the multinational conglomerate corporation and Visa has revealed their new partnership for the NFC mobile payments at London 2012 Olympics. According to the reports, the 2 companies are going to release an Olympics and Paralympics Games mobile handset in London, which is armed with mobile NFC technology, Visa’s payment app and an extra-ordinary SIM card.
The upcoming Olympics and Paralympics Games mobile handset works with special applications. For instance: once purchased, you need to open the Visa application on your mobile handset and then hold it in front of a special contactless reader, that’s it the payment will be done instantly.
According to the reports from Visa, currently there are over 60,000 contactless readers in London and Visa, is ongoing to work with banks and retailers to increase its NFC foundation.
The first NFC-enabled phone equipped with Visa SIM card will be obtainable to Samsung and Visa sponsored athletes. In addition, it will also be obtainable to consumers through mobile operators.
On the other hand, no information has been revealed by either Samsung or Visa regarding the model of the phone or details about its price tag. However, Visa is currently rolling out its NFC mobile payment program in Australia, Brazil Canada, Czech Republic, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK and the United states.
